Proofs & Cancellations
Proofs are included in the cost for all our personalised stationery orders, as are two sets of minor changes. Proofs will be emailed to you in a PDF format. Please check all aspects of the proof before amending and approving. We also recommend printing out all proofs to the correct size. Please contact us if you are unable to print your proof and in most cases we can arrange to send you printed PDFs in the post.
Please note that any major or substantial changes after the initial proof has been received may incur additional charges. A change of typeface counts as a major change and will be chargeable.
Two sets of minor changes will be made free of charge. Additional corrections can be made but may be charged as author’s corrections.
When the go-ahead on a proof is given with no alteration, the customer accepts all responsibility for the wording, spelling, punctuation, layout, type-sizes – in fact everything that could be gleaned from looking at it – regardless of the copy and instructions provided. If for any reason some of the proof is unclear, or one is concerned about something, it is the customer’s responsibility to seek clarification prior to giving approval.
We strongly recommend printing the proof to check the size. To print the proof at the correct size, it is essential that Page Scaling is set to ‘None’ and the Paper Size should be set to A4 by clicking Print / Properties / Advanced. If the proof is bigger than A4, an A3 printer is required. If in any doubt, please check the details of your order below.
All work we are asked to undertake is chargeable. Providing a proof is not a tender but part of an order placed on the client's direction; it is therefore chargeable if the customer decides not to proceed to the printing stage.
We strongly urge you having printed your proof the right size, to cut it out to the key-line, so you can achieve a more accurate impression of the actual position of the text/image on the page.
Please note, our Gee Brothers logo will be printed on the back page of Service Sheet booklets (Orders of Service), unless requested to be removed. You will be shown it’s placement on your proof.
Cancellations made after proof stage will be charged at £50 per job. Cancellations made after printing stage will be charged at the full price of the job.
Timing
Timing will vary according to season, but in general these guidelines can be followed:
For Normal service, allow three to five working days for proofing and fifteen to twenty working days after approval of proof for dispatch of goods. Please note that these are target dates and not guaranteed, during certain busy times of the year these timings can be extended.
Please note all our gilded board is ordered after proof approval and has a minimum ten day turn around; for express orders, please ask your sales consultant to advise of timings.
Delivery
For the time it takes us to print your order please refer to the section on Timing. This section refers merely to the courier service we offer: in other words, after your job has been received, logged on, typeset, proofed, approved, sent to print, printed, finished and finally packed, how long does it THEN take for our courier service to get it to you? The answer to that is as follows:
We offer overnight courier delivery to the UK mainland (Highlands, Northern Ireland, and UK off shore require two working days). Worldwide deliveries are also offered, but take longer depending on destination. Please note that since the UK’s exit from the EU deliveries may be subject to additional customs charges on arrival.
Deliveries are made by courier from Monday – Friday during working hours, and a signature will be required. Please ensure the address given for delivery is either a work address or one that is manned during the day.
Complaints
Gee Brothers is proud of its reputation. We try our hardest to provide the very best service and the very best product. We are always concerned that customers are happy with the product supplied and will do everything in our power to remedy situations where they are not. If for any reason you order is not as you expected when you receive it, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can help to resolve any issues.
If for whatever reason you wish to cancel your order before printing we will be happy to make a full refund, unless you have received a proof in which case we retain £50 to cover artworking costs.
